Hawkeye Community College Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship

The study abroad scholarship is open to current students who have been admitted to the study abroad program and will be going on a study abroad trip during the coming academic year. The purpose of this scholarship is to off-set the costs of the study abroad experience.

Application

  1. Complete the Hawkeye Scholarship Application.

  2. Essay explaining why you need this study abroad scholarship and how receiving this opportunity will benefit your academic and personal goals. (limit to 300 words)

  3. Essay explaining how previous extracurricular and academic experience in unexpected/unpredictable circumstances prepared you for study abroad. (limit to 300 words)

  4. Official college transcript.

  5. Two letters of recommendation, at least one from a Hawkeye Community College faculty member.

  6. Personal interview.

Awarding The Study Abroad Scholarship will be awarded yearly. Award decisions are based on academic performance.
Testimonial Requirement

Each scholarship recipient will be required to provide a testimonial and three pictures from the study abroad experience.

An additional requirement may include a presentation or attending the luncheon with Hawkeye Community College Foundation donors.
