Automotive Technology - Automotive Electronic Technology Option

The Automotive Technology - Automotive Electronic Technology Option program is designed to combine the field of electronics with mechanics for an in-depth study in both areas providing students a broad knowledge base that may be utilized in many different job areas. Students gain hands-on experience in testing and diagnosing engine drivability, automatic transmissions, gas engines, suspension, alignment, brakes, computer applications, basic electricity, and analog and digital microelectronics.

Automotive Electronic Services

Automotive service technicians must continually adapt to changing technology as vehicle components and systems become increasingly sophisticated. Students learn how to perform automotive electronic services to maintain a vehicles electronic components and systems.

Accreditation

The Automotive Electronic Technology program is A.S.E. Master Certified in all eight areas of curriculum by National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF).

Transfer Information

Hawkeye's Power Technology department has a block articulation agreement with the University of Northern Iowa Department of Industrial Technology. For more information, contact a program advisor.
