Admission Process and Requirements
Tyson is not currently accepting applications for the Machine Maintenance program. Tyson Application Process -
Contact the Tyson Training Supervisor to complete the personnel application for employment at Tyson. -
Complete Tyson's aptitude test, interview, physical, and drug test. - Tyson will select qualified students for the Machine Maintenance program.
Hawkeye Application ProcessIf you wish to take courses for credit, you must meet Hawkeye admission requirements. -
Be a high school graduate or equivalent. -
Apply at Hawkeye for the Industrial Automation Technology program. -
Meet basic skill competencies in reading, writing, and math. Basic skill competencies assessment provides information about your academic skills in reading, writing, and math. This information will be used to determine your acceptance, course selection, and registration. For admission into the Electromechanical Maintenance Technology program, you must score at least the following sub scores on the ACT or the COMPASS assessment: | ACT sub scores | COMPASS scores | - 19 - Math
- 19 - Reading
- 19 - English
| - 24 - Pre-Algebra
- 82 - Reading
- 65 - Writing
| OR Complete all of the following college success courses with a "C" grade or higher at Hawkeye Community College or comparable courses at another accredited college: - ENG061 College Preparatory Writing II
- SDV025 College Study Skills
- MAT045 Fundamentals of Math
OR Any combination of the above fulfilling the basic skills requirements of algebra, reading, and writing. -
Send your transcripts and test scores to the Admissions office. After You Have Been AcceptedAfter you are selected by Tyson and been accepted by Hawkeye, you will be placed in the Tyson Machine Maintenance program. |
