Industrial Electrician and Industrial Mechanic
Students accepted into the John Deere Industrial Electrician program or the John Deere Industrial Mechanic program will: John Deere Industrial ElectriciansIndustrial Electricians at John Deere repair and maintain machine tools, electronic controllers, and a wide variety of electrical equipment and systems. Jobs require highly educated and highly skilled people who are responsible for managing their own work in a professional manner. Students in the John Deere Industrial Electrician program will receive advanced industrial electrical and electronic maintenance training during their 500 hour internship. John Deere Industrial MechanicsIndustrial Mechanics at John Deere repair and perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities on mechanical and fluid power systems on machine tools, and industrial machinery. They utilize a strong skill in problem solving to diagnose and correct problems as well as determine what needs to be done to prevent problems from recurring. Students in the John Deere Industrial Mechanics program will receive advanced mechanical and hydraulic training during their 500 hour internship. John Deere Application Process -
Be accepted into the Industrial Automation Technology program at Hawkeye. -
Complete the application for the John Deere School to Work program. John Deere is not currently accepting applications. -
Complete John Deere's test, interview, background check, physical, and drug test process. - John Deere will select qualified students for admittance into the John Deere School to Work program.
EmploymentWhen you complete the program you will have preferential hiring for full-time employment as positions are available at John Deere. Forgivable Loan ProgramIf selected as a John Deere School to Work program student you may apply for the John Deere Forgivable Loan Program through the Hawkeye Foundation. The loan is used to cover up to two-thirds of your tuition and fees for your program. After you complete your program and have been employed at John Deere for three years, your loan will be forgiven. |
