High School Students

Dual Enrollment

Dual enrollment are designed for high school students who want to earn college credit.

You are eligible if you are an 11th and 12th grade student, who has not met your high school graduation requirements. Also, if you are a talented and gifted student in 9th and 10th grade, you may be eligible. You must meet Hawkeye's admission requirements.

Number of Classes

You may enroll in classes at Hawkeye and become a part-time student. This means you may take 11 credit hours or less, or up to three classes. Courses must be taken for college credit and you must meet the course requirements.

Credits

You will earn both high school credit and college credit for the courses taken. Your high school will determine the amount of high school credit awarded. After successful completion a class, it will be recorded on your high school and Hawkeye transcripts. If you are attending a college other than Hawkeye after graduation, contact that college to be sure your Hawkeye courses will transfer.

Costs

You or your family will be responsible for all costs. You are also responsible for providing transportation to and from Hawkeye.
