Hawkeye Community College Foundation
Support Hawkeye Students
Through the generous support of friends of Hawkeye Community College, the Foundation helps Hawkeye meet its commitment to provide educational opportunities for our community. By raising funds from private sources, the Foundation:
- provides scholarships
- assists in providing educational opportunities outside of the classroom
- supports faculty and staff development
- purchases equipment
- assists with other support services
In 1970, 20% of the total revenue of community colleges in Iowa came from tuition and fees. Today that number is over 49%. From 2000 to 2010, Hawkeye’s enrollment grew by 30%. Subsequently, state funding from 2000 through 2011 decreased by 30%. Private dollars are needed to assist the college with the challenges associated with training today’s students for tomorrow’s careers.
You can also support Hawkeye by getting involved in the legislative process to help support community colleges.
