The Performing Arts Club is dedicated to providing performing arts opportunities for Hawkeye students, alumni, faculty/staff, and members of the Cedar Valley community. Whether it be through theatrical performances, musical performances, spoken word poetry, film/video, standup comedy, a live reading of a short story, etc. we want to give you an outlet to show off your work.
Club Meetings — Spring 2024
Our club meets Fridays at 12:00pm in Black Hawk Hall 255.
New members are welcomed at any time!
During meetings, we work on performances for upcoming events, play theater/improv games, workshop original performances, discuss movies/music together, and plan/host events on campus.
Club meetings may vary depending on upcoming events happening at that time.

This course introduces the basic acting techniques with emphasis on concentration, movement, voice, and play script analysis. Students will experience the acting process by engaging in various exercises and performing monologues and scenes.

This course offers one half-hour lesson of private instruction per week, with a minimum of 30 minutes of practice per day. The goal is the development of both fundamental and advanced vocal techniques. The presentation of the standard repertoire for the specific voice is required. This course can be repeated with different content for credit.
